Albion want to reward loyal fans with a win to savour over their old rivals.

The Seagulls face Crystal Palace at the Amex still stinging after Tuesday’s 4-0 mauling by Luton.

They have spoken at training about how the vast majority of supporters stayed to applaud them at full-time.

They would love more upbeat scenes at full-time today.

Facundo Buonanotte said: “All of them stayed for the 90 minutes and that is very admirable. We are very proud of them.

“We have beaten teams heavily, we have been 4-0 up and their fans have gone.

“I want to say to the supporters that they are very good and very supportive of us. We are very grateful for that.

“We want to repay all the love they showed us after the game at Luton.”

Head coach Roberto De Zerbi added: “We usually speak about our fans but it is not something new, it is normal. It is an important part of our work, of our team.

“The reaction of our fans was great, amazing.

“I remember when we won 6-0, 4-0, 5-1 or 3-0, the other fans they went home.”

Buonanotte revealed De Zerbi has made his feelings clear to players about what happened at Luton.

He added: “If we are losing after one minute, try to get your head up because there are 89 minutes left to get back into the game.

“One of the things he said and that stuck with me is we now have to be more united than ever. That’s the truth.

“The team are a bit down, a bit sad, because it’s hard to lose a game like that.

“We have to be very united as a club, as a staff, as players to move forward together.

“Training was very good, not just in the tactical aspect but in terms of team spirit.”
