Roberto De Zerbi believes reported Albion target Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has “great quality”.

But he said he knew nothing of a potential move for the midfielder from Leicester City.

Albion were reported to have made a bid for him over the weekend.

Taking questions at his scheduled press conference today, Albion boss De Zerbi said: “I don’t know anything about him (in terms of transfer interest).

“I know him as a player. He has a great quality, but it’s not my business to talk about other coach’s players, especially as (Leicester City boss Enzo) Maresca is my friend and I want to be correct with him.”

De Zerbi later said he had midfield resources for the rest of the season.

He cited Pascal Gross, Billy Gilmour, Carlos Baleba, Jakub Moder, Mahmoud Dahoud,  Jack Hinshelwood and James Milner as midfield options.

De Zerbi added: “I don't know. We will see in these two days if we bring in any player, otherwise we follow in the same way."

Albion and Leicester are reported to be some way apart in valuation of Dewsbury-Hall but it is said to be not out of the question that the Championship leaders would let him go.

He did not feature in the FA Cup on Saturday as Maresca made ten changes.
