Albion took charge of their FA Cup tie at Sheffield United twice – and only let it slip once.

This is how the individuals performed in what was ultimately a comfortable and impressive  fourth-round win at Bramall Lane.

Bart Verbruggen 6/10

Did not have a huge amount to do but was on the receiving end late in the first half and perhaps might have done better with the low cross for the first United goal.

Adam Webster 6/10

A mixed performance as part of the three and could have done better on the second Blades goal, but the two big pluses for him were the minutes under his belt and the fact he was getting better later in the game.

Jan Paul van Hecke 7/10

Probably the best of the backline as he played a central role in the absence of Dunk for most of the match. Composed on the ball and threaded the pass for Joao Pedro to hit his third but got things wrong on the attempt to play offside ahead of the hosts’ first goal.

Igor Julio 6/10

Thrown straight back in after his injury and struggled at times wide on the left, especially late in the first half. But he came up with two important blocks and, again, the minutes will be of great benefit to him.

Jack Hinshelwood 7/10

Nothing too ambitious but was involved in the move for the second penalty and there was a moment very early on which showed the danger he can cause in that wide midfield role.

Billy Gilmour 7.5/10

Busy as usual in midfield moves getting the ball in tight areas and moving it quickly, which was seen to great effect in the move for the first goal.

Pascal Gross 7/10

Along with Gilmour, he regularly dropped deep to get the ball off van Hecke and set things moving. Played some really nice passes, short and long, but had just drifted offside before his pinpoint cross was headed home by Ferguson.

Pervis Estupinan 7/10

Having operated on the left of a back three, this time he was given a more advanced wide role on that side and was a good outlet.

Facundo Buonanotte 8/10

A sizzling finish from outside the box as he grows in confidence and production. There were some nice touches and a willingness to take the ball into tight areas so he could make room for others as he enjoyed his role to the right of centre. Threaded a fine pass to set up a good chance for Joao Pedro

Joao Pedro 9/10

A hat-trick compiled in real Joao Pedro style – ice-cool penalties and converting his toughest chance. The low shot into the bottom corner for his third exuded as much confidence as the spot-kicks. Had decent open-play chances in both halves and might have done better at times in terms of ball retention.

Evan Ferguson 7.5/10

A good performance leading the attack. His presence in front of goal forced a penalty, he had a decent finish ruled out for offside by Gross, curled an early effort narrowly over and did some really good work in general play, a good example being the move for the first penalty.

SUBS – Lewis Dunk 7/10

Did a good job restoring some calm after joining the defence.

Danny Welbeck 7/10

Great movement and enough power and direction on the shot for his goal.

Adam Lallana, Tariq Lamptey, Carlos Baleba – N/A

All went on in the late stages to help complete the job.
