Albion could add a leading Southampton prospect to their array of young talent.

The Seagulls are widely expected to bring in 18-year-old midfielder Kamari Doyle.

He is of interest to Albion, against whom he made his so far only Premier League appearance, as a sub towards the end of last season.

Doyle has played age group football for England and appeared for Southampton in the Carabao Cup this term.

Relegation was expected to mean more first-team chances for Doyle this season.

But that has not been the case as Russell Martin's side make a strong bid to bounce straight back to the top flight.

He has been with the Southampton academy since 2013.

Albion are known for their overseas recruitment and are also bringing through more of their own long-term academy players.

But they are also happy to look at other Prem and Championship clubs for emerging talent.

Examples in the under-21s include midfielder Luca Barrington, who came from Manchester City, and left-back Jacob Slater, who has played first-team football at Preston North End.
