Gary O’Neil says his Wolves side can show far they have come when they visit the Amex.

Wanderers have lost just once in their last eight games in all competitions and appear to have come a long way since the early-season 4-1 defeat by the Seagulls.

O’Neil said: “When you come up against a top coach or side, it’s always good to see where we are and what we could achieve.

“They are very good at what they do.

“Even before Roberto (De Zerbi) went in there they had a similar way of playing.

“Us and them were also the two sides who made the most profit in the summer so it’s impressive they’ve managed to keep it going.

“It will be another tough test. There were loads of chances for both teams in the first game.

“Brighton took all of theirs and we missed ours. Performance-wise it was nowhere near what the result made it look.

“It was probably quite an entertaining game until your side are 4-0 down with 30 minutes left.

“Going there will be a really good test of our character, mentally, and will show where we are as a team.

“They’re an incredibly coached side, with one of the best managers. They have beaten some top teams there but we’re looking forward to it.”

Hwang Hee-chan, Boubacar Traore and Rayan Ait-Nouri remain on international duty and Joao Gomes is banned.
