Remiero Moulton marked his step up to Albion under-21s in style as he helped them to another European win.
The youthful Seagulls were 2-1 winners at home to Dinamo Zagreb to complete their Premier League International Cup programme with a perfect record.
Moulton headed home the opener from close range when Harry Howell chipped over a cross after being found by a fine pass from Jacob Slater.
Noel Atom’s poor pass led to Dinamo racing away to draw level through Leo Rimac.
But Atom made amends with what proved to be the winner in first-half added time.
He pounced when the keeper could not hold a fierce Joe Knight free-kick which had been earned by more strong work from Moulton.
Howell might have scored just before that when he headed straight at the keeper after a precise cross from Bailey Smith.
Slater, looking very accomplished wide on the left, side-footed wide in the second half and Smith, who appears to have benefited from a loan spell with Worthing’s first team, went close.
Several members of the side could be involved in the FA Youth Cup on Saturday when the 18s host Leeds (3pm).
Albion: Cahill; Offiah (Bashir 74), Simmonds (Ryan 61), Atom; Smith, Knight (Albarus 61), Mullins, Slater; Moulton (Belmont 68), Flower, Howell (Tasker 61).
