Valentin Barco can offer Albion an intriguing tactical decision when his expected move goes through.

That is the view of top South American football expert Tim Vickery pending the 19-year-old’s anticipated switch from Boca Juniors.

A complex deal is not yet complete but is set to go through in this window.

Vickery said: “(He’s a) left back but he’s not going to be playing there, I don’t think.

“He’s a left-sided attacking midfielder.  Very good running with the ball.

“Amazing power that he generates from his left foot. Good from set-pieces.

“He can combine well. He had a sweet little thing going with Edison Cavani at Boca.”

Vickery told TalkSPORT: “The interesting thing for me will be where they end up using him.

“I think Brighton have done this very, very well with some of the players they brought in.

“For example Alexis Mac Allister. When he came over, he was more of a ten and you think there is no way he is going to be able to play as a ten in English football.

“He’s not big enough, quick enough, he just hasn’t got enough to play there but he’s good.

“Brighton ended up using further back and that worked really well, so well that he’s got a World Cup winner's medal and a big money move to Liverpool.

"He could possibly be left wing-back but you might want to free him a little bit.

“That will be a challenge for Brighton, exactly what position they are going to find for this player.”
