Gary O’Neil wants Wolves to get their minds on a trip to the Amex – as excitement builds over an FA Cup derby.
Wanderers clinched a fourth-round tie at West Brom after beating Brentford 3-2 in a replay last night.
The Hawthorns showdown comes a week on Sunday – six days after their Premier League game away to Albion.
Monday’s match is a big one in its own right given Wolves can go level on points with the Seagulls with a win.
But all the talk in the Black Country will be about their first derby in three years – and first with fans in attendance since 2012.
O’Neil said: “As soon as we walked off, I was thinking about Brighton.
“I understand fans will be excited. It will be a big atmosphere, it hasn’t been played with fans for a while.
“I can’t wait to lead the team down there and see if we can progress again.
“There’s a Premier League game coming up and I have a very small, tired group to do some work with before we go to Brighton.”
Wolves’ mid-season break was interrupted by the fact they drew 1-1 at Brentford in the third round, forcing a replay.
Brentford led twice at Molineux, on the second occasion through Neal Maupay.
O’Neil said: “The lads have worked unbelievably hard over the two ties.”
