Harry Howell completed a very special week in some style with two goals as Albion under-21s beat Liverpool.

The 15-year-old from Worthing rose to the challenge again following his winning penalty as a very late substitute against Reading in the Bristol Street Motors EFL Trophy tie on Tuesday.

This time he started, as part of another very young line-up with several under-21s away with the first team in Dubai.

Louis Flower and, in the final moments, Jamie Mullins were also on target.

The Albion team included Odel Offiah, the defender who has been on loan at Hearts.

Freddie Simmonds, 15, was also named in Shannon Ruth’s line-up.

Five of the team who started against Reading - Tom McGill, Ben Jackson, top scorer Mark O’Mahony, skipper Jack Hinchy and Luca Barrington - were unavailable.

Albion: Fisher; Offiah (Nilsson 63), Simmonds (Atom 72), McConville; Ifill (Smith 63), Knight, Chouchane, Slater; Howell (Albarus 85), Mullins; Flower.
