Kaoru Mitoma had a limited part as Japan trained ahead of the Asian Cup.
The Albion winger did some light running at their base in Doha.
Japan are gearing up for the Asian Cup and have made no secret of the fact they hope Mitoma can feature at some stage.
They open their campaign against Vietnam on Sunday but the tournament runs until the second weekend in February.
Mitoma went off with an ankle injury during the 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace three weeks ago.
Albion head coach Roberto De Zerbi has made it clear he will be pleased to support Mitoma in the competition if he is genuinely fit to play.
