Albion signed off for 16 days with a win which was ultimately comfortable.

They were given a good test at Stoke City in the third round of the FA Cup before pulling away for a 4-2 win.

We asked these long-time, match-going Seagulls supporters for their thoughts on the game.

Then we looked ahead and asked what their expectations would be when action resumes.

1. What were your thoughts on Albion’s performance at Stoke?

Tim Ayling: A slow start in a very strange atmosphere. There are certain players that make us tick - Gilmour, Gross, Pervis etc - and they didn't play well in the first half at all. However, once Pervis scored it felt like we would win. We were much, much better in the second half, controlled the game, and scored some good goals.

Alan Brownings: Another good performance and managed to get ahead of the bad luck own goal and penalty, with the Albion being comfortable winners in the end.

James Heasman: A classic game of two halves for me. The first half we seemed ponderous, lacking any incisiveness in our build-up. The second was the opposite, better movement, slick play and a lot faster. The goal before half-time from Estupinan really helped, and set the second half up nicely.

2. Who stood out for you from the Albion team?

Tim Ayling: Joao Pedro was excellent throughout, working very hard and showing more quality as the game wore on. Gross ran the game in the second half, and Hinshelwood was solid throughout. A mention should go to Van Hecke for coming back from his own goal so well.

Alan Brownings: Estupinan for a second fantastic goal in the space of a week, and Van Hecke for the strong run and perfectly weights cross. The plaudits go to Joao Pedro though for his 14th and 15th goals this season.

James Heasman: Estupinan and Gross played well but man of the match has to be Joao Pedro, who really was a class above everyone else.

3. How are you expecting Albion’s season to develop after this 16-day break in fixtures?

Tim Ayling: I'm excited to see what we can do once the injuries subside and we can play our normal way. It's amazing that I'm making plans around the potential of FA Cup and European finals, as they're realistic goals for this team. What a time to be a Brighton fan!

Alan Brownings: If you look ahead, the next ten games look easier than the last ten and, with players coming back from injury, then, like last year, I think we could well push on.

James Heasman: Hopefully we will start getting some players back, which will make a difference and give us more depth again. A signing or two would also be helpful. Season wise, I really hope we can make at least the quarter-finals of the cup competitions, and then push for sixth or seventh in the league. Of course it would be lovely for Evan Ferguson to score the winning goal in Dublin in the Europa League final!
