Albion goalkeeper James Beadle has joined Sheffield Wednesday on loan until the end of the season.
He has spent the first half of the season with Oxford United in League One.
Beadle will team up with his former Albion academy goalkeeper coach Sal Bibbo, who is now on the staff at the Owls.
Albion technical director David Weir said: "This is an excellent opportunity for James to test himself at Championship level, having excelled with Oxford United in League One during the first half of the season.
"Like his new long-term contract, this is another reward for his progress and hard work, and we look forward to monitoring his progress with Sheffield Wednesday in the second half of the season."
Beadle, who is under contract with the Seagulls until June, 2028, was also believed to be of interest to Birmingham City and Bristol City.
He made no secret of his admiration for Bibbo and under-21 boss Shannon Ruth at Albion.
Speaking to the club website this time last year, Beadle said: “I have improved massively since I have been here because of what the club has in place and the coaches I have worked with.”
