A TV pundit highlighted the enduring quality of Pascal Gross after Albion beat Stoke.

Two-goal Joao Pedro was the talk of the post-match press conference along with Pervis Estupinan and younger players.

But Match Of The Day’s Ashley Williams said Gross gets better every time he sees him.

The German midfielder provided pinpoint service for headers by Joao Pedro and Lewis Dunk and orchestrated the move from which Jan Paul van Hecke assisted Joao Pedro for the final goal.

Williams, the former Swansea, Stoke and Wales defender, said: “I am very impressed with the way they linked up.

“We know about Pascal Gross now, although I still think he is under-rated.

“Now he has got Pedro, who is such a willing runner.”

Looking at Albion’s second goal, he said: “What a ball that is on the left foot.

“For someone like Dunk, it is so good to see that ball get floated up there for you to go and attack it.

“Every time you watch Gross, you feel he is getting a little bit better.

“It’s the link-up play with Brighton, especially with Pedro and Gross today. It worked.

“The balls that Gross is putting in are just asking to be attacked.

“Very impressive, Brighton, because Stoke gave it a go and Brighton had to work for it.

“With players like Gross and Pedro up for it, they are a tough team to beat.”

Fellow pundit Nedum Onuoha, the former QPR and Manchester City defender, was impressed by Estupinan’s goal – his second spectacular strike in the last fortnight.

Onuoha said: “Great technique. Does it feel surprising any more?”
