Roberto De Zerbi said Albion deserved to win at West Ham.

But he was pleased with their performance in a rare 0-0 draw at the London Stadium.

A side missing suspended captain Lewis Dunk and several injured players looked the more likely winners for long period of the contest, especially in the second half.

But Alphonse Areola made several good saves – including some when arguably should have been left with no chance to intervene.

Albion boss De Zerbi acknowledged the fact his side kept their first Premier League clean sheet of the season.

He added: “Today we deserve to win, but we played an amazing game, one of the best in my time because West Ham are very good at counter-attacking and we played a smart game with a clear idea in our head.

“We didn´t take any risk in the build-up.

“We created a lot of chances to score and I think we played a great game.”

“For sure, we made some mistake in the last pass, shooting, crossing, assist, for sure the keeper played another great game because at the Amex I think he played better than today.

“Anyway, we deserved to win, at the Amex as well, but I can´t say anything of my players because I am delighted with the performance – great, great performance.

“We have lot of problems with injured players but we have a great spirit, a great character and great qualities.”
