Q - West Ham season so far?

The competition has reached its halfway point and West Ham have consolidated themselves in the top six in the Premier League. An admirable improvement from the Hammers, who at this point last season where standing 17th and playing with fire with relegation.

However, they sit in Conference League with 33 points and playing effectively. Beating four out of their last five Premier opponents, including title contenders Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester United.

Q – What has changed?

The capacity to convert has improved as the Irons find themselves with only nine goals (33) less scored compared to their final tally from last season (42). An inspired Jarrod Bowen is carrying the team, with ten goals at a personal level and placing himself as the third top goalscorer of the Premier League.

As well as that, West Ham signed James Ward-Prowse, who has given the team consistency and a plus at set pieces having assisted in five occasions.

Q – Form at home?

In nine games played at London Stadium, only twice have the Irons lost and they have conceded only ten goals. They have a total of 17 points which, depending of the outcome of the game, could be a better record than Albion's this season.

Q – Injuries & absences

David Moyes was not very keen to share team updates as he denies players missing the game, “We´ve had it with Nayef Aguerd with illness and Kurt Zouma rocked his knee a little bit and obviously we lost Paquetá during the Arsenal game but at the moment it´s too early to assess any of them or give any answer.”

Mohammed Kudus will be missing the game due to his international duty. The Ghanaian player will be playing the AFCON and hence not available to play against the Albion.

Q - Head-to-head

West Ham have historically struggled to beat Albion at the Amex until this season when David Moyes's team beat the Seagulls 3-1. However, before that match, West Ham went 12 games winless against Albion in the Premier League, consisting of six draw and six defeats.

Last time the Irons beat Albion at home was back in 2012 with a devastating 6-0 at Upton Paek in the Championship.
