Roberto De Zerbi is in no rush to leave Albion – according to one of his most senior pros.

Speculation over the head coach’s future has suddenly sparked into life again over the past week or so.

But Adam Lallana says De Zerbi appreciates what he has got with the Seagulls.

Lallana is convinced other clubs around Europe are already eyeing De Zerbi’s work with the Seagulls.

The vastly experienced midfielder told TalkSPORT: “It’s not even a question that that’s already happening.

“Brighton are not naive enough to be blindsided by that.

“Roberto is that honest and he’s that up front, I’m not sure he wants that at the minute.

“He understands, I think, what a group he has got here, without egos, no political gains for players.

“I think part of him thinks if he goes elsewhere, he is not going to get a group as good as he has got here.

“For a manager to think like that is rare as well.

“Usually, managers want to jump ship and want to go if there is more money involved or a bigger transfer budget or whatever.

“Roberto is that genuine.

“He started with nothing in the fourth league in Italy or whatever and he constantly reminds us that’s where he was.

“He doesn’t need anything.

“He just needs a bag of balls, some cones and a bit of grass and we will go out and train.

“That’s all he wants. When you’ve got a group of 20 honest fellows who are worshipping him and following him, that’s all he wants, it makes him happy.

“Of course, there will be interest. Eventually he is going to manage a top, top, top team. It’s just a fact.”
