Roberto De Zerbi said Albion’s tough afternoon at the Emirates can stand them in good stead.
The head coach recognised Arsenal deserved their 2-0 win in the Premier League contest.
But he was proud of his side’s effort and resilience at the end of a tough week and believes that experience can be important for weeks to come.
De Zerbi said: “Arsenal played much better than us. They deserved to win the game.
“We suffered a lot. I think Arsenal are one of the best, maybe the best, team in the Premier League.
“We are not used to suffering in this way.
“We are used to controlling the game, the play.
“But anyway, especially for it, I am really proud of the performance by my players.
“We suffered with the right attitude, the right mentality, and I think we can find the advantage from this game in other games.
“We could score with Pascal Gross and with Jack Hinshelwood but it would not be fair if we scored and finished the game 1-1.”
