Elisabeth Terland is hungry for more goals – despite going top of the WSL charts.
The Albion forward scored twice in the come-from-behind 2-2 draw at Leicester last week.
That took her to seven for the league campaign ahead of hi evening's game away to Aston Villa.
But she told reporters after that match that she was more concerned about chances she had to then complete the hat-trick and the win.
Albion boss Melissa Phillips loves that attitude and said: “Who doesn’t want a striker who scores two goals and is kicking herself for not finding the winner?
“I think that’s the mindset I have consistently spoken about with Teri.
“She is always asking herself for more first and foremost before she asks her team-mates for more.
“There is a lot where she leads by example.
“The goals are really no surprise because it is a credit to the way that she prepares and learns from every game.”
Phillips said Terland is working hard on all areas of her game but is not under pressure in terms of a goal target.
She added: “We speak week in and week out about her development, both in the box and in open play.
“Her focus is on contributing to the team.
“She is a fantastic team-mate she is one of our hardest-working players and she is really driven and hungry to grow off the pitch.
“She will want to continue finding the back of the net but she knows there are other areas of the game where she wants to contribute from assists and in open play and getting us up the pitch.
“I don’t think we are ever putting too much pressure on her and it is just about making sure she grows.
“She is still such a young player – mature and wise beyond her years but still has so many areas she can continue to push forward in.
“When you put too much pressure on players at this time it’s not good for anyone.”
Albion were assessing Julia Zigiotti and Lee Guem-min, both of whom missed the Leicester game due to injury.
