Roberto De Zerbi has explained why the 1-0 win over Marseille was so special.
Joao Pedro’s late goal takes Albion into the Europa League last 16 as Group B winners.
De Zerbi was emotional at full-time as his side grabbed the points against Gennaro Gattuso’s well-organised OM.
He then spoke about a Serie C play-off defeat he suffered as Foggia boss when he went up against Gattuso’s Oisa.
De Zerbi said: “This game in a way closes a circle.
“It was against Rino Gattuso I lost the most important game of my career up to now.
“This win I dedicate to my former players at Foggia, who lost the match, and to the fans.
“This defeat will always stay with me but it’s like today – everyone won together.”
