Albion set a new club goal-scoring record when Simon Adingra equalised against Burnley.

But club historian Tim Carder has revealed they have also equalled a less desirable club landmark.

The Seagulls have now scored in 32 successive league fixtures.

That beats the 31 they managed across two seasons in 1956.

A 1-0 defeat at Southampton in October of the 1956-57 season ended their run of 31 league games in a row scoring at least one goal.

The Argus:

Their longest goal-getting run in one season remains the 29 games in which they netted in 1964-65. That sequence, which began in the seventh game of the season and went right through until March, powered them towards the Fourth Division title.

They failed to score in an FA Cup tie with Bristol City in that time but were unstoppable in the league.

Similarly, the current run does not include nils at Chelsea in the Carabao Cup and against Manchester United in the FA Cup.

Gus Poyet’s Albion scored in 22 successive league games in 2011.

That series started in their League One days at Withdean and ended when they were playing Championship football at the Amex.

It was book-ended by 1-0 defeats at MK Dons and Leicester City.

The 1-1 draw with Burnley also saw Albion equal the club record for consecutive league games conceding a goal, the last clean sheet being at Arsenal last May.

They have conceded at least once in each of the 20 league games since then.

To avoid setting an outright record, Roberto De Zerbi’s men must keep another shut-out at the Emirates on Sunday.

The last time the club conceded in 20 straight league games was way back in the 1947-8 season, when they finished bottom of Division Three South.

Albion have both scored and conceded in their last 20 league games, which has already smashed the previous record.

That stood at 13 and was set in 1956.

However, they are still some way off the club record for games without a goalless draw, which stands at 84 matches between October 1971 and September 1973.

Albion have currently gone 44 league games without a 0-0.
