Roberto De Zerbi fears a significant absence for Pervis Estupinan.
The Ecuador left-back will still be absent when action resumes at Nottingham Forest.
De Zerbi said: “He’s not available for a long time.
“I am not a doctor and we have very good medical staff.
“But, in terms of the time for Pervis, I don’t know.”
Albion have lacked a high-speed attacking edge from full-back but that could change with Tariq Lamptey closing on a return.
De Zerbi said: “He’s better. I don’t know if he can play 90 minutes, or a part of the game.
“But it’s good news for us because we were playing without a full-back, only Joel Veltman was available.”
