Roberto De Zerbi agreed Albion had pulled off the finest result in their history as they won at Ajax.
Goals from Ansu Fati and Simon Adingra secured a 2-0 win at the Johan Cruyff Arena.
Asked whether it was “the finest result” in Albion’s history, De Zerbi told a press conference: “Yes, what do you think?"
“We are very happy for our fans and our club.
“I think we deserved to win because we played 70 minutes very well.
“We suffered in two or three situations in the first half and in the last 20 minutes “But before we suffered we could score the third goal with Ansu Fati one chance and another chance with Mitoma.
“In the end I think we are in good way.
“We are improving in the quality of play.
“We are improving in high pressure because the first goal we scored with high pressure.
“The second goal is totally our style and we have to find man situations like the second goal.”
