Joao Pedro has been named in the Brazil senior squad.
The Albion forward is part of the group selected for World Cup qualifiers versus Colombia, in Barranquilla, and Argentina, at the Maracana later this month.
While the headlines will be dominated by the selection of Endrick, the 17-year-old Palmeiras forward destined for Real Madrid, Joao Pedro's selection is also a first - and a special moment for the Seagulls forward.
He is currently joint top scorer in the Europa League with four goals.
Joao Pedro came through the system at Fluminense, who won the Copa Libertadores at the weekend.
The latest Brazil squad does not include Neymar, who is injured.
Brazil are firmly on course for the 2026 tournament but the visit of holders Argentina to Rio is eagerly awaited.
