Albion dominated possession, stuck to their task and eventually made their own luck.

As has been the case during this period of injuries, there were areas that could been stronger through no particular fault of a certain player.

,This is how they fared as individuals in the 1-1 draw at Everton.

BART VERBRUGGEN 7/10

Unfortunate to concede after making a sharp save - having already denied Doucoure - and, while not hugely employed, can look back on a sound first away game in the Prem.

JOEL VELTMAN 7/10

Solid as usual down the right-hand side and got forward inside Adingra in the first half to deliver a dangerous cross.

JAN PAUL VAN HECKE 7/10

Is looking increasingly confident in possession and played himself out of tight situations at times. Made an important second-half challenge but could he have got closer to Mykolenko on the goal?

LEWIS DUNK 8/10

Eventful to say the least with the deflection, the disallowed goal after a sensational finish and the free-kick to test Pickford. Was the first to start looking to switch the point of attack with his passes, made a goal-saving tackle in the second half and cleared off the line in a late skirmish.

JAMES MILNER 7.5/10

Cannot add a dynamic flair down the flank but, after an errant clearance very early on which caused problems, carried out a very sound defensive job against Harrison and joined in build-up play in his own way.

PASCAL GROSS 7/10

His best moment, the free-kick delivery for Dunk, was cancelled out by centimetres via VAR. Saw a lot of the ball (125 passes, eight crosses) and drilled a good chance over. It felt like ball movement could be crisper at times and he can certainly offer a sharper service than this. But he kept things ticking over, often from a pocket around the left-back area

BILLY GILMOUR 7/10

Buzzed around midfield and picked up bits and pieces to help Albion dominate possession. Drove at the defence and committed defenders to force a dangerous free-kick.

SIMON ADINGRA 6/10

Got into some good areas without making the best of them. He has something but there are times when it is notable he ideally favours the left wing.

ADAM LALLANA 6/10

One or two nice moments of link play but was not able to engineer a way through the massed Everton ranks. Taken off at half-time.

KAORU MITOMA 8/10

Deserves a high mark for his dynamic conclusion to the match, when he had gone wider than in the first half, which brought a great chance and a goal. But, even when he was being snuffed out earlier, he was often committing a couple of opponents at a time and maybe Albion could have made better use of that.

EVAN FERGUSON 6/10

Well marshalled by the Everton big men and did not offer the outlet and movement Albion were looking for.

SUBS - JOAO PEDRO 7/10

Gave Albion a bit more movement in attack.

MAHMOUD DAHOUD N/A

Got on the ball and spread play intelligently.

ANSU FATI N/A

Livened things up but it felt like he was going to let fly when released in the final seconds.

FACUNDO BUONANOTTE N/A

Was unable to make the most of a couple of decent situations.

IGOR N/A

Went on late as Everton threatened a last-gasp aerial barrage.
