Sean Dyche has praised Albion’s recruitment in the last two years.

But he said they have made “a lot of mistakes” which people don’t talk about.

The Everton boss is preparing his side to face the Seagulls at Goodison Park.

He was asked whether the Toffees could look to the way Albion have brought in - and sometimes sold – talent from around the world.

Dyche said: “It looks like they have got it right in the last couple of years.

“It’s quite a healthy pool they have been shopping in down the years, you know?

“If you look back four or five years, they have spent quite a lot of money.

“We are all looking at the best way of recruiting.

“I think they cover a large part of the planet.

“Matt Benham does a very similar thing at Brentford.

“They have been doing that for a long time.

“They know and I know – and you probably know but they never get talked about - but they have made a lot of mistakes along the way.

“It has taken a long time to get to where they have got to.

“They have signed some very good players, I agree, in the last couple of years and coached them very well, as have Brentford.

“But there has been a lot of work put into their systems for a lot of years before what you are talking about now.”
