Albion won’t change their style after a costly slip-up against Fulham.

And there is a strong case they should have played most of the game against ten men.

Those were the verdicts of the experts on Match Of The Day last night.

A match largely dominated by the hosts will be recalled for two moments involving Joao Palhinha and Pascal Gross.

The Fulham midfielder caught his opponent in the face with a flailing arm early in the game.

He went on to score the equaliser after a mis-placed pass by Gross.

Fulham boss Marco Silva said the wet conditions played a part in the first incident.

But former goalkeeper Shay Given told BBC viewers: “I think he’s very lucky. It could be a red card.

“He (Silva) talks about the conditions but it doesn’t stop you lifting your arm in someone's face.

“He has definitely left a bit on him. He clearly lifts his arm in his face and I think he’s extremely lucky.”

Former Fulham midfielder Danny Murphy is a big admirer of how Albion play under Roberto De Zerbi

He said: “It’s their strength, their possession-based game and how they dominate teams and this is what they do.

"It’s something they will continue to do, The manager will be disappointed they have conceded but I don’t think he will be so disappointed he will stop them doing it because he believes in it.

"You have to give the players the freedom and the courage to play that way.

“There’s an argument to say game management at times. The weather is bad, you’re 1-0 up.

“Play some percentages but that’s down to players having the autonomy to do that on the football pitch.

“The self-belief to make your own decisions.

“But overall I think it’s a strength of Brighton.

“It’s what makes them a special team at the moment”

He added: “I think Fulham deserve some credit for resilience and staying in the game.”
