Albion go into the international break with a 2-2 draw against Liverpool.

It was a game in which they had to come from behind having been 1-0 up and playing well.

We asked these four long-time fans for their thoughts on the game and its best players.

Then we found a different way to ask the classic post-draw question: Point gained or two dropped?

1. What were your thoughts on Albion’s performance against Liverpool?

James Heasman: I felt it was a much improved performance from recent games, and our midfield looked much stronger with the Baleba/Gross combination. What impressed me most though, was the work rate, and the players really pushed Liverpool hard. We look a little less assured playing out from the back with Verbruggen in goal, and the penalty was evident of that. But a good performance overall.

Tim Ayling: I would say it was much improved on recent games. Two silly goals, but that's the way we play. To be fair, with the first goal there was still a lot for Liverpool to do. I think it made a difference having some muscle in the team - Baleba and Igor gave the performance a more solid look.

Alan Brownings: Overall it was an excellent performance with what on paper at least appeared to be the strongest side we’ve fielded this season. Sadly, we let our concentration lapse for five minutes before half time, gifted Liverpool two goals and nearly gave the game away.

Colin Beales: The Albion were back to playing great football for pretty much the entire match other than a few calamitous minutes at the back of the first half. Most of the players put in a great shift and players brought into team as starters all performed well. I hope we can take a lot from this performance into the game at City and our next Amex game against Ajax, when it would be great to show some of this quality on the European stage.

2. Who stood out for you from the Albion team?

James Heasman: I thought Baleba was excellent as was Gross, but my man of the match was Solly March, arguably another Brighton player who should be a regular in the England squad.

Tim Ayling: Both Igor and Baleba made a big difference - especially Baleba. We've been missing his talents. Adingra was rightly man of the match. Full of confidence and energy.

Alan Brownings: Simon Adingra - he really has something about him, doesn’t he? People will be talking about him in the same breath as Mitoma before too long.

Colin Beales: Solly March was great, back in his left-back role from both a attacking and defensive sense, but Simon Adingra was the best player of the field. Nice to see him trusted with minutes and repaying De Zerbi with a performance that caused Liverpool problems throughout the match.

3. How did you feel about the result?

James Heasman: A little disappointed in some respect because we were very much in the ascendancy when Liverpool scored, and the fact that both of their goals came from errors makes it all the more frustrating. However, we are a match for any team in the league and the fact I feel disappointed from a draw against Liverpool, shows how far we’ve come.

Tim Ayling: I predicted 2-2 before the game and was happy with it. Liverpool are title challengers and we deserved at least the point. Coming after the draining Marseille experience, we have to be happy.

Alan Brownings: We fought hard to get back in it with Lewis Dunk doing the honours. All in all, a draw felt about right.

Colin Beales: Given the lapse of concentration that cost us two goals in the first half and their chances to get a third I'd say that, even though I'm obviously disappointed João Pedro didn't slot away the easy chance to win us the match, and taking off my blue and white shaded glasses it's probably a fair result for what was a thoroughly enjoyable match to watch.
