Albion have another “gem” on their hands – but beware Chelsea moving in.

Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy praised Carlos Baleba on Match Of The Day.

And, to laughter, he joked the former Lille teenager would be off to Stamford Bridge before too long.

Both Murphy and Alan Shearer gave the Seagulls full credit for their start to the season after the 2-2 draw against Liverpool while highlighting the number of changes Roberto De Zerbi has been making.

Murphy said: “It is easier to change personnel in attacking areas.

“Building relationships defensively, as a back four and a goalkeeper and defensive midfield, is the hardest thing to do if you have got changes week in and week out.

“But what they are doing is remarkable.

“They keep finding these gems. Baleba, 19 years old. First home start.

“What a performance! He’ll probably be at Chelsea in a year.”

The experts had highlighted the way Albion lost the ball ahead of both Liverpool goals but also how they played through the Reds at times.

Shearer said: “I think you are going to see hot and cold from Brighton.

“One week they will be brilliant, for example against Newcastle.

“And then the next week against Aston Villa, where they concede so many goals.

“But he has also given opportunities to other players. They are a very, very good side.

“They have had a really good start to the season and they have played some of the top sides.

“It has been a tough start but it has been a good start for them.

“But you are going to see that with the number of changes that he insists on and is going to make.”
