Roberto De Zerbi will check on Tariq Lamptey – after praising his performance at Marseille.
The full-back was involved in both Albion goals in their comeback to force a 2-2 draw.
He stood in for injured Pervis Estupinan on the left, as he did when the Ecuadorean was rested at Manchester United recently.
De Zerbi will assess whether he can do likewise at home to Liverpool – and did not appear to have ruled out a return for James Milner against his old club as he spoke on Thursday evening.
The Albion boss said of Lamptey: “I think he was one of the best for us on the pitch.
“Now the problem is for Sunday because I don’t want to take risks with him.
“He was injured in the last part of last season and the first part of this season.
“At the moment it is very tough because we lost Pervis.
“I don’t know if we can play with James Milner “We have to analyse the Pascal Gross situation because for him it was the first game after injury.
“It is a tough moment but I think we can play well anyway.”
