Adam Hinshelwood admits he has never known a build-up to a game quite like Saturday.
The Worthing boss prepared his side for FA Cup action while knowing his son Jack was making his first Premier League start in Albion’s early kick-off at Aston Villa.
Hinshelwood junior did himself credit in a 6-1 defeat, then Worthing came from behind to beat Whitehawk 2-1.
The Rebels boss said: “Yes, it was a bit different to what I'm used to.
"I stayed at home a bit later than normal to watch the first half.
“Then I gave the talk to the lads and focused on our game but I was still wondering what was going on with Jack.
“When we both kick off at 3pm you can forget about it but I admit I had a bit of a wandering eye.”
Worthing have been drawn at home to league rivals Bath City in the fourth qualifying round.
Hinshelwood said: ”It’s an exciting one. Both of us will think we can progress.”
