Albion’s last win over Manchester United was fuelled by a wish for revenge.

They grabbed a dramatic success at the Amex not too long after their agonising defeat on penalties in the FA Cup semi-final.

The boot might be on the other foot at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Albion remain the last visiting team to beat United at their Theatre Of Dreams in the Premier League.

Since the opening weekend of last season, United have played 20 home league games, winning 17 and drawing three.

Their goal difference in those games is 39-10.

Bizarrely, two of the three teams to draw at United last season were eventually relegated.

They dropped home points to Southampton (0-0) and Leeds (2-2) as well as Newcastle (0-0).

United beat Liverpool and Arsenal in the home league games immediately following defeat by the Seagulls last season and later enjoyed a 2-1 success over Manchester City.

While they have been fortunate to win at home to Wolves and Nottingham Forest this season but the record shows six points so far at Old Trafford.

The only team to beat them there since that Pascal Gross double were Real Sociedad in the Europa League almost a year ago.

That was the first of 13 cup fixtures United played at home – and their record in the subsequent 12 was sensational, winning 11 and drawing one.

The only draw saw them concede two own goals in the final minutes against Sevilla.

That all means, since losing to Albion right at the start of last season, United have played 33 home games in all competitions, winning 28, drawing four and losing one with a goal difference of 57-20.

Impressive stats but such records are there to be shot at.
