Pervis Estupinan says Albion will relish their test at Manchester United.
The Seagulls resume their season with a trip to the stadium where they began last term in winning style.
It is a fitting venue at which to start the club’s first ever European week, which also sees them face AEK Athens at the Amex.
Estupinan admits to a bit of embarrassment over his English but he would love to leave United red-faced again on their own patch.
The Ecuador left-back, who signed too late for the Old Trafford trip last year, said: “It’s in these games when we are most concentrated.
“We know what the teams have got – players who are much more experienced.
“Obviously we have to be very concentrated in all games.
“But I think this type of match suits us.
“It is where we are at our most focussed.”
Estupinan said Albion’s team spirit remains strong despite summer changes, which included departures of key men Alexis Mac Allister and Moises Caicedo.
He added: “I have been in a lot of changing rooms and this is one of those where I feel most comfortable.
“There are a lot of youngsters and also a lot of experienced players.
“Lots of South Americans and also English and we all get on very well.
“We have been here for a year and we are trying to understand more of the language.
“Two South Americans have gone but it is still the same.
“My English is getting better. I have classes because it is very important to learn the language.
“I’m improving but I still feel a bit embarrassed to speak but the language is important.
“I think I’ll be speaking better very soon.”
Estupinan played the full 90 minutes last night as he helped Ecuador beat Uruguay 2-1 in a World Cup qualifier in Quito.
