Kaoru Mitoma has been shortlisted for TWO Premier League accolades.

The Albion winger is one of six candidates for the player of the month award for August.

He is also in the running for goal of the month thanks to his solo effort – as part of a sparkling overall display - in the 4-1 win at Wolves.

He also had two assists in August, although his month was about more than stats.

Mitoma’s rivals for both prizes include West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen, whose highlights included a well-taken goal in his side’s 3-1 win at the Amex.

Bowen scored twice and had one assist in August, as did fellow player of the month contender Rodri, the Manchester City midfielder.

Nottingham Forest forward Taiwo Awoniyi and Brentford counterpart Bryan Mbeumo both make the list after scoring three August goals.

Tottenham midfielder James Maddison, like Mitoma, had one goal and two assists.

Votes for player of the month can be cast via the Premier League website until midday on Monday.

Mitoma's sensational goal at Molineux would appear to stand a good chance of winning the Prem prize.

Its fellow goal of the month contenders were scored by Bukayo Saka, Bowen (at Bournemouth, not the Amex), Alexander Isak, Gustavo Hamer, Luis Diaz, Raheem Sterling and Kevin Schade.

Votes for that one can be cast here.

Meanwhile, West Ham’s win over the Seagulls has helped David Moyes to a nomination for the manager of the month award.

His fellow contenders are Pep Guardiola (Manchester City), Mikel Arteta (Arsenal), Jurgen Klopp (Liverpool) and Ange Postecoglu (Tottenham).
