Albion bounced back to winning ways in some style against Newcastle.
One man took the headlines, of course, as Evan Ferguson scored a hat-trick, but the confident team display was littered with pleasing individual contributions.
Bart Verbruggen 7/10
More chance to show his passing game than against West Ham and he was composed and precise with the ball. Made a sharp save low to his left.
Joel Veltman 7/10
A more orthodox right-back option and he offered a robust presence down that side on his first start of the season.
Jan Paul van Hecke 8/10
Made a crucial challenge in the first minute and defended strongly until almost the end but his confident work on the ball also stood out and appears to be an area where he has progressed.
Lewis Dunk 7/10
After the first-minute scare when he failed to cut out a pass, he settled into a solid evening’s work in defence and possession.
Pervis Estupinan 7/10
Fell below his usual high levels in possession at times but still offered a competitive and athletic presence down his side and did some good work ahead of the first goal.
Pascal Gross 7/10
Plenty of attractive link-up play in midfield as Albion repeatedly worked the ball cleverly.
Billy Gilmour 8/10
Heavily involved in the first two goals, with a shot which was too hot to hold and then a pass on the stretch, and his use of the ball and perpetual motion were good to watch.
Kaoru Mitoma 7/10
Played his part in the first and third goals and produced some enjoyable moments as he tested Trippier.
Joao Pedro 7/10
Drifts into dangerous areas and is direct in his approach right up until the point which demands a decisive finish or incisive pass. One suspects there is much more to come from him.
Solly March 7/10
Good energy and industry on the right drifting infield or, increasingly it seems, attacking down the outside.
Evan Ferguson 9.5/10
He would have rated highly even without a goal. Throw in a first Prem hat-trick, including the superbly taken second, and what more could you ask for? Feel free to round the mark up to ten.
Subs
Tariq Lamptey - a lively contribution ahead of Veltman on the right.
Adam Lallana, James Milner and Mahmoud Dahoud - experienced heads went on fairly late to see it through.
Simon Adingra - buzzed around in search of a goal.
