Ansu Fati will have extra motivation to shine as he starts life with Albion.
The Barcelona forward was left out of Spain’s latest squad on the day he signed for the Seagulls on loan.
Although he featured in the most recent international get-together, his omission this time was not a huge surprise.
Fati’s presence in the summer was as a replacement for the injured Nico Williams.
The return of Williams and a lack of playing time for Fati meant it was not a shock that he missed out on selection for the forthcoming Euro qualifiers versus Georgia and Cyprus.
But clearly head coach Luis de la Fuente will be monitoring his progress carefully.
