Kaoru Mitoma says there is more to come – after revealing pride at a personal landmark.
The Japan star scored a sizzling goal for Albion to spark their 4-1 win at Wolves.
He also teed up a strike for Pervis Estupinan, the first time he had scored and laid on a goal in open play in the same match.
Now he prepares to face West Ham, against whom he had success in a 4-0 victory at the Amex last term.
Mitoma has revealed he did not feel 100% match fit in the first game against Luton.
But he added: “I feel sharper and I think I scored a good goal.
“But it’s just one goal and I want to score a lot more this season.
“We are top of the league, which is nice but it’s very early. This was the first time I have scored and got an assist, so I want to do that more often.
“I want to be the best option for this team.”
In fact, Mitoma was credited with a goal-and-assist double in some quarters in the West Ham game last term after he was fouled for Alexis Mac Allister to open the scoring from the penalty spot.
