World Cup rugby is returning to Brighton.
Albion’s home stadium is one of eight venues for the Women’s World Cup in 2025.
The event will come ten years on from the men’s tournament in which Brighton staged two fixtures, including Japan’s famous win over South Africa.
Tournament venues were announced today and include a mix of traditional rugby grounds and stadia better known for football.
It appears the Amex will be known as the Brighton and Hove Community Stadium for the competition.
Fixtures and ticket details have not been announced.
The World Cup will be the biggest ever staged in the women's game with competing 16 teams.
It will run from August 22 until September 25.
The Amex is one of three football stadia chosen, along wth Ashton Gate (which is also regular home venue for Bristol rugby team) and the Stadium Of Light.
