How Albion players rated on an individual basis in their 4-1 success at Wolves.
JASON STEELE 8/10
His save from Silva in the first half arguably matched Estupinan’s goal as the crucial moment of the game as he stood up and appeared to win the mental battle with the forward. Calm on the ball, as ever.
JAMES MILNER 7/10
Continues to do sound work in that right-back spot while joining in build-up play.
ADAM WEBSTER 8/10
A very impressive return to the side. Helped set off the passing game and also got in some important defensive interventions.
LEWIS DUNK 8/10
Sound again in defence and one moment summed that up when he halted a Wolves counter attack in the final seconds of the first half by staying on his feet and timing the tackle, coming away with the ball and using it wisely.
PERVIS ESTUPINAN 8/10
Is there a better attacking left-back in the Premier League right now? Gives such an athletic extra dimension down that side and his finish was cleanly hit. Played Silva onside for Wolves’ big chance but also did some decent defending at times.
BILLY GILMOUR 8.5/10
Rotation this season means players will have to get into their stride immediately when handed the chance – no time to play yourself in. Gilmour did that to perfection and buzzed in midfield while using the ball well, or brilliantly in the case of the third goal.
PASCAL GROSS 7/10
Helped keep Albion ticking over, despite playing almost the full game weighed down by a needless yellow card. Looked annoyed that his passing was not at its normal high level initially but he improved as the game went on.
SOLLY MARCH 8/10
Two superb finishes (you possibly had to watch the replays to appreciate how clever the second was) after getting into great positions. But also did also lots of diligent work down that right-hand side.
JULIO ENCISO 8/10
Handed the No.10 shirt and the No.10 role and was sensational. Has explosive skills but the way he got his head up and teed up March was so impressive.
KAORU MITOMA 9/10
Caused Semedo problems last season and continued that here, from their first one-on-one. Held off two fouls and evaded two other defenders on his expressway to goal for the stunning opener and was always a danger.
DANNY WELBECK 7/10
A day for others to take the glory but he was involved in build-up and closing-down work and was a facilitator for team-mates.
SUBS
Joao Pedro – had moments when it looked like he might add to the tally. 6/10.
Joel Veltman – helped see it through down the right. 6/10 Evan Ferguson – might have had a late penalty.
Mahmoud Dahoud – safe midfield hands to complete the job.
Adam Lallana – good to see him back in Prem action.
