Albion fans have been told not to under-estimate a free-agent signing amid the big-spending Premier League summer.
Mahmoud Dahoud is in contention for a second start for the club as they go to Wolves tomorrow.
Dahoud played in the opening 4-1 win over Luton and impressed with his range of passing.
The 27-year-old is getting up to speed after limited involvement with previous club Borussia Dortmund last season.
Albion boss Roberto De Zerbi said: “Dahoud is a top player.
“He needs time to reach the best physical condition but he is a top player.
“He is a free agent and for it I think people can forget him.
“It’s not like this. He is still very important for us.”
Dahoud could go head-to-head with Brazilian Joao Gomes, who stood out in midfield for Wolves at Manchester United on Monday.
Albion will look for their third successive win at Molineux as they take on a Wanderers side who have been hugely encouraged by their performance in the 1-0 defeat at Old Trafford.
Changes to the Seagulls the line-up which started against the Hatters are likely to be limited in number, despite the array of talent in attack.
De Zerbi has the option of restoring Joel Veltman on the right of defence while Adam Webster, who missed the Luton game, has trained this week.
The head coach could offer more indications as to his line-up in the Black Country when he speaks to the media today.
