The midfielder wanted by Chelsea was reported to be subject of a bid from Liverpool.
The Argus was informed on Thursday nothing had changed regarding the Ecuador star.

Howeverย there are various reports pointing at a bidding war between Liverpool and Chelsea.
Albion rejected an offer from a club whose identity was kept under wraps more than a week ago.
They have also knocked back three bids from Chelsea.
Speaking at a BBC Sussex fansโ forum, Barber said: โThere is always going to be speculation in the transfer window.
โThere are going be 1,000 stories, sometimes a day, and 999 of them are going to be untrue.โ
