Albion have rejected an £80 million bid for star midfielder Moises Caicedo.

The improved offer comes after the Seagulls rejected an £70 million bid last week.

Moises Caicedo is currently with the squad in New Jersey ahead of their final friendly against Newcastle for the US Summer Series tomorrow night.

The bid was reported to have been rejected immediately according to transfer-market tweeter Fabrizio Romano.

The 21-year-old has been one of the first names on the team sheet since making his Premier League debut against Arsenal in April last year.

He handed in a transfer request in January this year with Arsenal bidding £70 million.

Caicedo then agreed a new contract with Brighton in March which runs until 2027.

Head coach Roberto De Zerbi dismissed suggestions last week that he made a verbal pact with the Ecuadorian midfielder over a summer transfer.
