Two Mid Sussex rivals will be supporting a good cause as they meet this evening (7.45pm).
Hassocks take on Burgess Hill as a part of both clubs’ pre-season programme.
The teams will be playing for the Ann John Trophy in memory of the late wife of Hassocks club chairman Dave John.
All gate money goes to the St Peter and St James Hospice in Haywards Heath in memory of Ann.
Last year’s keenly fought game raised £1,500 for the hospice, taking the running total from nine such fixtures so far close to the £15,000 mark.
Hillians have made several notable signings this summer under new boss Dean Cox while the Robins are coming off their best season in several years.
Admission for the fixture at The Beacon is by pay-what-you-can donation.
