Bart Verbruggen has been a player Roberto De Zerbi has prioritised this transfer market and will join Joao Pedro, Mohamoud Dahoud and James Milner, writes Carlos Acosta Juckes.

The goalkeeper was convinced to sign for the Seagulls after a conversation with the Albion head coach.

Verbruggen, 20, made his season debut last December with a clean sheet and since made a spot in the starting line-up, playing up to 37 games in total.

The Dutch keeper has many abilities but the main reason which caught De Zerbi´s attention was his ability to play the ball from the back. An aspect of the game in which the manager considers essential for his game style and which Verbruggen executes perfectly.

He was fifth in the Golden Glove as he conceded 1.2 goals per game at his young age.

He ranked first in the league as the goalkeeper with most passes completed, averaging 40.9 per game.

His passing ability is quite extended, as he averaged 20.8 short passes and only misplacing 0.5 passes per game.

Verbruggen is a shot stopper as he has become an expert in the Belgian league with most saves inside the penalty area, averaging 2.4 saves per game and 0.3 saves inside his box per game.

These stats made him the keeper with third most saves per game in the Belgium league.

In 37 games, he has kept 13 clean sheets.

Additionally, the keeper has had European experience as Anderlecht played the Conference League last term, reaching the quarter finals.

Jason Steele will have to fight for his spot against the youngster who will come to take his place.
