Two young midfielders let go by Albion have wasted no time finding new clubs.

Teddy Jenks has signed for League Two outfit Forest Green while Jack Spong has joined Queens Park.

Jenks said he was quickly won over by Forest Green boss Duncan Ferguson, the former Everton and Scotland striker.

He said: “There’s a brilliant manager here. I can pick his brain about football things - he’s not a bad person to learn off.

“Everything about the club really intrigued me.

“He’s a character. He had a fantastic career in the Premier League and in Scotland.

“There are loads of players who would jump at the opportunity of playing for him.”

The length of Jenks’ contract has not been disclosed.

Spong has a two-year deal at Scottish Championship side Queens Park.

He struggled for game time on loan at Crawley in the second half of last season but was already in the sights of the Scottish club.

Queens Park director of football Marijn Beuker said: “We have been intensively following Jack for the last few months and we are very happy we have been able to sign him.

“He comes from a really good football background at Brighton and has developed into a very intelligent and calm midfielder.”
