Albion have confirmed a new contract for Jeremy Sarmiento.
The Ecuador international has committed until June 2027, with the option of an extra year for the club.
His time with the Seagulls to date has been hindered by injuries, including the fractured metatarsal which cut short his 2022-23 season.
But he has shown exciting glimpses of what he can do, most notably in the 4-1 win at Everton.
Head coach Roberto De Zerbi is looking forward to working with him on a long-term basis.
De Zerbi said: “Jeremy is a great guy and a very good player.
“Unfortunately, he couldn’t play in the last part of the season because of his injury, but we expect him to be a very important player for us in the coming years.”
Sarmiento, 21, missed Ecuador’s recent trip to the USA as he prepares for pre-season with the Seagulls.
