Julio Enciso has targeted a first international goal to round off his memorable season.

The Albion forward is likely to start for Paraguay in their friendly against Nicaragua today.

He made his big move from Libertad a year ago this week and has since emerged as one of the brightest young stars in the Premier League.

Expectation back home is high for him to lead a revival of the national team.

Enciso told a press conference: "Being here means a lot to me. I used to be a ball boy when the national team played and it gave me goosebumps.

“Today, from within, it is inexplicable. A dream."

Enciso has enjoyed his time back at home hearing the indigenous Paraguayan language spoken by his parents.

He said: “This week I have been really happy because I’ve heard the Guarani language again.

“I see a very united group and what you see on the pitch will reflect that.”

Enciso, 19, showed his emotion when he opened his Premier League account for the Seagulls at Bournemouth.

It would be no surprise to see similar scenes when he nets for Paraguay.

He said: “I am getting impatient and I really hope to score my first goal for the national team.

“But the coach and my team-mates are helping a lot in this sense.

“I’m young and obviously I’m impatient but they show this support.

“They tell me to be calm and play with freedom.”
