Roberto De Zerbi won’t be giving super-human Lewis Dunk any respite in Albion’s busy run-in.
The skipper leads his side out against Southampton today with Europe within reach.
De Zerbi has been carefully managing his playing resources.
He revealed yesterday his team selection at Newcastle in midweek was made partly with today’s game in mind.
But Dunk, who has been out there for every minute of league playing time so far this season, was not going to miss out.
The Seagulls boss said: “Dunk can’t rest. Why? Dunk is from Brighton, he is a top player.
“I think he is a top player not only for us but the level of Dunk is higher than his career.
“He has to play 90 minutes every game for me.
“Dunk is not human!”
Levi Colwill is expected to return alongside the skipper in defence but Adam Webster could be competing for a place by the time Manchester City visit on Wednesday.
