Albion turned in another sumptuous team display – even with their growing absentee list.
They bounced back from the home horror against Everton with another triumph of the collective.
But this is how the individuals fared within that – with one or two really standing out.
JASON STEELE 8.5/10
Bounced back from conceding five by keeping a clean sheet, a highlight being a save with his foot in a moment similar to his own goal versus Everton. But it was his calm and precise passing with which he impressed.
MOISES CAICEDO 9/10
Is he now the first choice stop-gap right-back? Slotted into that ill-fated role to great effect and, bar one moment, kept Trossard quiet. Then he stepped into midfield when possible to set things moving. He doesn’t look quick but he always seems to be first to arrive in the right place.
LEWIS DUNK 8/10
Made a couple of timely blocks when needed and some key headed clearances – and, as ever, set the tone for calm passing.
LEVI COLWILL 8/10
Picked out by De Zerbi for his courage and discipline to keep a close watch on Odegaard. And his comfort on the ball, including an eye for the long pass, fits in well with the masterplan.
PERVIS ESTUPINAN 9/10
Another assist and the crowning moment of a goal in added time. Gets up and down his side with incredible energy.
BILLY GILMOUR 7/10
Back in midfield at a venue where he shone in the Carabao Cup and was tidy and competitive again in midfield.
PASCAL GROSS 8/10
After a bizarre early pass to concede a corner, he settled to play his steady midfield role and had a part in the second goal. One of those where it is particularly hard to give an individual mark because he was all about being part of the unit. Got a crucial, if initially undetected, touch to a Trossard shot which flicked off the bar.
KAORU MITOMA 8/10
Started on the right and fans enjoyed some tracking back on Trossard. But he really caused chaos on his favoured left, easing past the out-of-position White at will and aware of Estupinan’s overlaps.
ALEXIS MAC ALLISTER 8/10
Another industrious performance in midfield without being outstanding and showed an eye to start attacks. Drilled a shot not far wide as his side really got on top.
JULIO ENCISO 8/10
Did well in a wide role. Created a chance for himself in the first half, when denied by Ramsdale, and showed a striker’s instinct to twice get in great positions, skying one and heading home the second.
EVAN FERGUSON 8/10
Offered great presence on his return to the XI and dropped deep to get involved in play. Looks like an old-fashioned No.9 but has a very contemporary approach to the role.
SUBS - DANNY WELBECK 8/10
Gave Arsenal new problems when he went on and was involved in creating chances as well as hitting one narrowly wide. A very clever performance.
FACUNDO BUONANOTTE N/A
Helped out in that big finish.
DENIZ UNDAV N/A
Is enjoying himself at last. Quite an impact as sub and served up another calm finish before twice playing a huge role in the third goal.
