The former Rosario Central star has had precious few opportunities in recent matches.

But head coach Roberto De Zerbi said: “Facundo is a big potential player, a smart player.

“I think he has also personality and potential to play in the Premier League.

“He has to understand the country, the football in a new country, the style, how we are playing but to understand sometimes he has to play.

“Sometimes you can lose time playing with young players but you have to do it.

“If you want to find in the future with the different level, you have to invest.”

De Zerbi says Buonanotte can play without pressure in what is likely to be a partisan atmosphere at te City Ground.

He added: “I think I only want him to enjoy.

“He has to show me nothing because I believe in him and he will be one of the most important players in Brighton.”
