Ollie Robinson has been kept OUT of Sussex’s season-opener.
The England fast bowler has not been cleared by England to face Durham in the Championship clash starting at Hove tomorrow (11am).
But Australian all-rounder Nathan McAndrew is set for his debut as Cheteshwar Pujara leads the side.
Robinson's schedule is being monitored ahead of the Ashes but Sussex will be disappointed they cannot call on him.
Sussex coach Paul Farbrace, who arrived during the winter, said: “I’m really looking forward to the start of the season, we have had a great five or six weeks, and everybody is excited to get going.
“We have a really good balance to our team, and with addition of Cheteshwar and Nathan coming in for this first game adds the quality and experience to our already talented group of homegrown players.
“This is a big season for our quality batting line up and I am looking forward to watching them flourish.
“There is no better way to start than against a top quality team like Durham.”
Steven Finn and Ari Karvelas are ruled out as they recover from knee injuries.
Tickets for Friday’s play have already sold out but remain available for other days.
